The YEŞILKÖY MERYEM CHURCH OF SYRIAC KADIM is a residential settlement in Yeşilköy that includes social facilities, a gathering area for approximately 1000 people, as well as a place of worship. The focal light in the interior is charged with strengthening and relaxing the mind. The external structure of the building is designed to keep a sense of belonging for the Assyrian community. The most important constructions of the Assyrian community in Mardin are namely the Deyrulzaferan Monastery and the Mor Gabriel Monastery. These Monasteries were meticulously inspected so as to keep within the traditional archetype of design while using contemporary construction techniques to appease the geographical needs of the region.
